When I hit up my homegirl Michele last night, she told me that she just came back from watching the movie "District 9," released in theaters on August 14th. I've been hearing lots of positive responses to this film and she definitely confirmed all the hype. Looks like I'll be headed to the theater to make my own judgments real soon...
So, what's this movie all about? Well, if I told you, then you wouldn't have a reason to go see it. But here's an overview of the new box office topper taken from Yahoo! Movies.
Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's District 9 as the world's nations argued over what to do with them.
..and the critics have given it an A-. I'm sold. =) haha.
